May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month and the charity, Melanoma Focus are raising awareness of Melanoma skin cancer this year.
Melanoma skin cancer is the 5th most common cancer in the UK with more women than men affected.
But 86% of cases of melanoma are preventable yet increasing numbers of people are being diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer. There are now more than 16,000 new cases each year in the UK. Staying safe in the sun and knowing your own skin is essential to skin cancer prevention.
