What is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month?

Every March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and is a chance to put ovarian cancer in the spotlight.

In the UK, over 7,000 women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every year. Two thirds of women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer too late when the cancer is harder to treat. And every day, 11 women die.

Do you know the symptoms of ovarian cancer?

Only one in five women know that bloating is a symptom of ovarian cancer, and 40% of women wrongly believe that cervical screening detects ovarian cancer.

Make sure you know the symptoms.

It's important to get them checked out by a GP, even if they are mild. Early diagnosis saves lives. In the image below, you can see the four common symptoms of ovarian cancer.
