NHS Sussex Independent Youth Panel
What is the Independent Youth Panel?
The Independent Youth Panel is a safe online space for people aged 13-24 to work together with health, care and wellbeing organisations, to explore topics affecting Sussex communities. The Panel content is evaluated by local young designers so that it works for its members and is a way of helping young people to be heard and make a difference.
How does it work?
Members can provide input on current and potential health, care and wellbeing support, by completing short polls and/or questionnaires. There will be a short summary of the topic being covered, so you can decide if this is something you want to contribute and some links to where you can get support if you are concerned about the topic in any way. It will also say how long it should take to complete.
Contributions are optional. Members who share their experiences and views will be celebrated and recognised for their contributions and will be entered into a prize draw.
What happens with the feedback?
All polls and/or questionnaires responses get reviewed and anonymised after the closing date and shared with the health, care and wellbeing organisations who were asking for your contributions. They must give timely feedback on the changes our members have inspired.

NHS Sussex and their health and care partners want young people to be able to shape the services they use. If you’re interested in health-related surveys, polls and focus groups, or have questions or ideas about health services, this online space is for you. There aren’t any meetings or time requirements – you can do as much or as little as you like.
Registering online for the panel means you will be notified when surveys and opportunities are posted, and be able to see the updates on how your contributions make a difference. It also helps NHS Sussex to reach a broad range of young people from different backgrounds.
